Winchendon Partners With Discovery Maps to Boost Visitor and Community Outreach
The town's Economic Development Task Force announced a new partnership to put Winchendon on the map — literally — just as residents brace for a holiday weekend heat event and a shortened Town Hall schedule.

Winchendon's Economic Development Task Force has teamed up with Discovery Maps to produce a professionally illustrated visitor and community map showcasing the town's attractions, businesses, services, and destinations. The partnership, announced Monday afternoon, is aimed at drawing visitors and helping residents navigate local offerings.
With the July 4th holiday falling on a Saturday, Town Hall will be closed this Thursday, July 2, and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 6. Residents with time-sensitive business at the Town Clerk's office should plan accordingly.
For those dealing with the heat before the long weekend, the town has activated a cooling center at the Clark Memorial YMCA, 155 Central Street. The center will be open Wednesday, July 1 through Friday, July 3, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
Beals Memorial Library's Summer Reading Club continues through the holiday week, with sessions scheduled Wednesday, July 1, Thursday, July 2, and Friday, July 3. Also on Wednesday, July 1, the library hosts its Teen Gender & Sexuality Alliance meeting. Looking ahead, a Lego Club session and a Yoga with Chantal from Shadow Alchemy Wellness class are both on the calendar for Monday, July 6, along with a Beals Musical Movie Night screening of *Hamilton*.
