School Committee · Meeting of September 9, 2026

Westborough's School Committee adopted an updated bullying prevention policy and a new law-enforcement contact policy required by the state's Protect Act. Members voted 4-0-1 to approve the revised JICFB bullying policy, aligning rules dating to 2003 with the 2010 state Bullying Prevention Act, after a 2-3 vote rejected a clarifying amendment on off-campus conduct. Member Jane said "I think the rubber is going to hit the road" on enforcement, noting the policy lacks specific consequences.

The committee separately voted 5-0 to adopt policy ACL, governing interactions with civil immigration law enforcement, retroactive to September 1. The district also announced a $214,000 PRISM II literacy grant from the state and approved two overnight DECA conference trips, to Boston in March and Anaheim, California, in April.
