Town Boards Set Packed July Meeting Schedule

WINCHENDON — Town committees are back in session this week with a full slate of board meetings, while the Beals Memorial Library continues its summer reading programming and Parks & Recreation rolls out a run of July events.

TOWN HALL

The town's public meeting calendar shows a busy stretch ahead, with the Historic Commission and the Charter and Bylaw Review Committee both meeting Wednesday, July 8, followed by the Youth Commission and a Conservation Commission meeting and public hearing on Thursday, July 9. The Board of Selectmen and the Winchendon Redevelopment Authority are both scheduled for Monday, July 13, with the Finance Committee and a Winchendon Housing Authority public hearing on the proposed annual plan for fiscal year 2027 set for Tuesday, July 14. The Capital Planning Committee and Zoning Board of Appeals round out the following week with meetings Wednesday, July 15.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Beals Memorial Library has several events running this week as part of its Summer Reading Club, including sessions on Wednesday, July 8, and Thursday, July 9. Wednesday also brings the Friends of the Beals Library monthly meeting, a Beals Teen Advisory Board gathering, and a Declaration of Independence Read Aloud program at the library. Thursday's lineup adds a CFCE Preschool Playgroup, an Animal Craze Petting Zoo, the Beals Book Club, and a land conservation presentation hosted with the Mt. Grace Land Conservation Trust. A Storytime at the Library session follows Friday, July 10.

Parks & Recreation is also running its "Wandering Wednesdays" series, with sessions July 8, 15, 22, and 29, and has a "Sunset Socials Island Vibes" event planned for Saturday, July 11. Later in the month, the department has booked a Pink Floyd tribute show, "Into The Floyd," for July 18, along with a Bingo at the Hub night on July 23, a free community open mic and picnic in the park on July 24, and a concert by The Reminisants on July 25.

The Youth Commission and Conservation Commission meet Thursday, July 9, alongside the library's petting zoo and land conservation talk. The Board of Selectmen and Winchendon Redevelopment Authority convene Monday, July 13. The Finance Committee and a Housing Authority public hearing on the fiscal year 2027 annual plan follow Tuesday, July 14, with Capital Planning and the Zoning Board of Appeals on Wednesday, July 15. Parks & Recreation's Sunset Socials event is Saturday, July 11.
