Town Begins Street Repaving, Shifts Town Hall Hours

RUTLAND — Crews have begun repaving work on several town streets, the town announced this week, while Town Hall and the Town Annex have also shifted to new hours of operation.

The town posted a News Flash notice this week saying paving crews have begun repaving work on a list of streets; the town's website did not specify which roads are affected, and residents are directed to the town's site for the full list and schedule. Separately, Town Hall and the Town Annex have moved to new hours of operation, according to a notice posted to the town's website; the town did not detail the new hours in the alert itself, and residents with business at Town Hall should check the posted notice or call 508-886-4100 before visiting.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Rutland Free Public Library has settled into a trimmed schedule "due to budget restrictions," according to the library, effective July 1. The library is now open Tuesday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday noon to 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and remains closed Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Library Director Kerry Remington oversees the Main Street branch alongside Assistant Director Tricia Lowe and Youth Services Librarian Aislinn Lewis.
