Summer Reading Club, Theater Squad Fill Library's July Calendar
WINCHENDON — A packed slate of summer reading events, town board meetings, and community gatherings dominates the week ahead in Winchendon, as the Beals Memorial Library rolls out youth programming and several municipal boards prepare to convene.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Beals Memorial Library's Summer Reading Club continues this week, with sessions scheduled Friday, July 10, and again Monday, July 13, and Tuesday, July 14, according to the town's community calendar. The library is also hosting a busy slate of youth and teen programming, including Theater Squad sessions Monday through Wednesday, a Lego Club meeting Monday, and a Teen Dungeons & Dragons Club gathering Tuesday.
Additional community offerings include a CFCE Storywalk on Tuesday, July 14, and a yoga session with Chantal from Shadow Alchemy Wellness on Monday, July 13. Parks & Recreation is set to host a "Sunset Socials: Island Vibes" event Saturday, July 11, adding a summer social gathering to the week's offerings.
COMING UP
The Winchendon Redevelopment Authority, Board of Selectmen, and Board of Health are all scheduled to meet Monday, July 13. The Winchendon Housing Authority will hold a public hearing on its proposed Annual Plan for fiscal year 2027 on Tuesday, July 14, the same day the Finance Committee meets and the Board of Selectmen holds a joint session with the Finance Committee.
The Capital Planning Committee and Zoning Board of Appeals both meet Wednesday, July 15, followed by the School Committee on Thursday, July 16. Looking further ahead, the Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School's 2026-2027 Policy Subcommittee meets Tuesday, July 21.
At the library, upcoming sessions include additional Summer Reading Club dates, a Wandering Wednesdays program July 15 and July 22, and a "Into The Floyd" tribute concert set for Saturday, July 18. Later in the month, the library and Parks & Rec calendar shows a Bingo at the Hub event July 23, a free community open mic and picnic in the park July 24, and a Reminisants concert July 25.
