Stevens Memorial Library has been provisionally awarded a $20,000 federal grant to fund a new food literacy program, while Town Hall reminds residents that outdoor water use restrictions remain in effect through September.

TOWN HALL

Ashburnham remains under mandatory outdoor water conservation restrictions that took effect May 1 and run through September 30, the town has confirmed. The town has also posted its 2025 Annual Water Quality Report, the Consumer Confidence Report detailing results of Ashburnham's drinking water testing, for residents to review.

Town Hall is also seeking volunteers to fill a list of vacancies on town boards and committees, according to a notice updated July 1 that will stay posted until the openings are filled. Separately, the town announced a new Summer Fitness program in Winchester Park, held Mondays at 6 p.m.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Stevens Memorial Library announced it has been provisionally awarded a $20,000 Library Services and Technology Act grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Library Director Jess Mynes said the grant, "At the Table: Food Literacy from the Ground Up," will fund library programs and resources aimed at improving residents' food literacy skills and quality of life.

The library also released its FY26-FY29 Strategic Plan, which builds on the previous plan and reflects updated priorities drawn from conversations with library stakeholders. Library patrons can now also access Kanopy, a streaming service offering more than 27,000 films and documentaries, as the library continues transitioning its digital lending service from Overdrive to Libby.
