SPENCER -- The town's website highlighted a public-health advisory on wildfire smoke exposure for outdoor workers Wednesday, alongside the release of its 2026 summer concert lineup and a spotlight on the Spencer Rescue Squad, as two town boards prepare to meet next week.

TOWN HALL Spencer posted a News Flash alert Wednesday titled "Protect Outdoor Workers Exposed to Wildfire Pollution," a public-health advisory aimed at employers and outdoor crews as wildfire smoke has periodically degraded air quality across the region this summer. The town's website also featured a separate News Flash item on the Spencer Rescue Squad, though no further detail beyond the announcement itself was published as of Wednesday.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The town released its 2026 Summer Concert List, giving residents a look at this year's slate of warm-weather performances, according to a News Flash post on the town's website. At the Richard Sugden Library, staff promoted the "School Summer Reading All Ages 2026" program, the library's ongoing all-ages summer reading initiative, in a post on its news page.

COMING UP The Planning Board meets Tuesday, July 21, and the Economic Development Committee meets Wednesday, July 22, according to the town's online calendar. A previously scheduled Conservation Commission meeting for July 22 has been canceled.
