Southborough Warns Residents of Permit Email Scam

SOUTHBOROUGH — Southborough Town Hall issued a public alert Saturday warning residents about a scam involving fraudulent emails tied to permit applications, while also confirming dates for the town's next two Town Meetings.

The town posted a notice titled "Alert: Permit-Related Email Scam" to its website Saturday, flagging fraudulent correspondence connected to the permitting process. Town Hall did not detail the scam's specific tactics in the alert itself, but residents who have applied for or are considering permits should treat unsolicited permit-related emails with caution and confirm any request directly with Town Hall before responding or providing information.

Separately, the town confirmed dates for its next two Town Meetings. The Fall Special Town Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026, with the Annual Town Meeting set for Saturday, March 20, 2027. Town Hall said additional details will be shared as they become available.
