The town's Conservation Commission is looking for volunteers, and a slate of board and committee meetings opens Tuesday evening, the main business visible on an otherwise quiet Monday in Southborough.

TOWN HALL

The town's Conservation Commission posted a call for new members on the municipal website, inviting residents interested in land stewardship and environmental review to apply. The Conservation Commission oversees wetlands protection, open-space management, and reviews permits under state environmental law; vacancies on volunteer boards are filled by Select Board appointment.

The town also released the latest edition of its periodic community newsletter, Word on Common Street, Volume 42, available on the town website at southboroughma.gov.

COMING UP

Three boards convene Tuesday, June 16: the Library Board of Trustees, the Stewardship Committee, and the Select Board all hold public meetings. On Wednesday, June 17, both the Northborough-Southborough Regional School Committee and the Elementary School Building Committee are scheduled to meet. Agendas and virtual meeting links are posted at southboroughma.gov/Calendar.aspx.
