Select Board Sets Aug. 25 Hearing On Naming Town Property

The Select Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Aug. 25, to collect resident input on potentially naming a public building or space in town, according to a town of Shrewsbury civic alert issued Monday. The announcement came as crews restored water service on Beacon and Marlborough streets after a main break, and as mosquito-control crews prepared to return to town later this week.

TOWN HALL

The Select Board's public hearing, set for 7:05 p.m. on Aug. 25, will let residents weigh in on the potential naming of a municipal property, according to the town's News Flash system. The notice did not specify which building or space is under consideration.

Separately, the town confirmed water service was fully restored by late Monday morning to homes on Beacon Street and Marlborough Street following a water main break that had disrupted the area. The Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project also said its personnel will be back in Shrewsbury on Aug. 18 and Aug. 25 to respond to resident concerns about mosquitoes, though officials cautioned both dates are tentative and could shift with the weather.
