Schools Open Creative Choices Registration for 2026-2027 Year
LEOMINSTER — The Leominster Public Library kept its summer calendar busy Wednesday with hands-on programming for children and teens, while the city and school district pointed residents toward upcoming registration deadlines and civic meetings later this month.

City Hall's online calendar shows several public hearings and board meetings queued up for the coming week, including a Board of Trustees meeting and continued public hearings on two zoning matters, though no new News Flash releases posted in the past day. The city's homepage continues to highlight the FY 2027 Mayor's Budget, now available for public review, along with FAQs on the Flamingo Express transit program and home-based businesses, and an update noting the Downtown Public Parking Garage has reopened.
SCHOOLS
Leominster Public Schools opened registration Wednesday evening for its Creative Choices Before and After School Program for the 2026-2027 school year, running from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with limited space available; families were directed to their child's elementary school page for details. The district is also running a waitlist for tuition-based peer slots in its preschool program for children who will be 3 by August 31, and it flagged ongoing bus schedule information tied to summer ESY programming across several elementary schools and the high school.

The Leominster Public Library packed Wednesday's schedule with programming for younger patrons: a "Sensory Bin Story-Time: Construction Zone!" ran in the morning, followed by an afternoon "Soap Attack!" soap-making session led by Garine Arakelian of Kulina Folk Art. Teens had their own offering Wednesday evening with a Jaws movie night.
Looking just ahead, the library has a full slate of author and craft events, including a Brown Bag Book Group discussion of John Grisham's "The Guardians," a Love Monster story and craft session, and a Circus Dynamics juggling and balloon show for both kids and teens.
