WESTBOROUGH — The Westborough School Committee voted 5-0 to correct an error in the 2026-2027 school calendar, pushing the last day of school from Monday, June 21, to Tuesday, June 22, after officials discovered Friday, June 18, must be observed as a federal holiday. Member Sarah noted this was "now our third... revote on the calendar," prompting officials to say future calendars will be vetted with the teachers union before adoption. Separately, the committee declined to act on a $62,000 engineering proposal from firm HSH for redesigning the Hastings Elementary School parking lot, with member Steve calling the proposal flawed and duplicative of existing survey work.
Members agreed to reconvene a prior ad hoc study committee and coordinate the project with a separate playground plan, targeting the spring annual town meeting rather than this fall for any needed zoning action.
