School Committee · Meeting of October 7, 2026
Grafton School Committee adopted an updated anti-discrimination policy explicitly barring teen dating violence and heard that capital funding could hit zero in fiscal 2027. Chair Liora Bram said updating the policy, modeled on Massachusetts Association of School Committees language, reflects "best practice" after another district was cited by the state for lacking similar language. Operations lead Frank Rothwell said a $750,000 capital allocation will be entirely consumed replacing the upper turf field, warning "we've never...gone through a year with zero in capital." The committee also voted to update its sexual harassment and retaliation policy, approved September 23 minutes unanimously, and heard the district expects $3,094,289 in special education circuit breaker reimbursement and $965,881 in school choice revenue this year.
Vice Chair Laura Often proposed shrinking the student advisory council to five elected volunteers to match state law.
