Rutland Town Hall, Library Announce New Office Hours

RUTLAND -- Town Hall and the Town Annex have posted new office hours in a News Flash alert on the town's website, arriving the same week the Rutland Free Public Library confirmed a trimmed public schedule tied to budget restrictions, while paving crews have begun work on town streets.

The town posted a "New Hours Alert" this week announcing new hours of operation for Town Hall and the Town Annex, directing residents to the town website for details. Separately, the town announced that repaving work has begun on town streets, though specific roads were not listed in the alert.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Rutland Free Public Library, at 280 Main St. and headed by Library Director Kerry Remington, has moved to a reduced hours schedule that took effect July 1 because of budget restrictions. Under the new schedule the library is open Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday from noon to 8 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The library remains closed Sundays and Mondays, and is closed Saturdays altogether between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

The Select Board holds a public hearing Monday, July 20, on a Class II auto dealer license application for 206 Barre-Paxton Road, part of a meeting night that also includes a joint Events Committee/Select Board session and the board's regular meeting. The Conservation Commission meets Tuesday, July 21.
