Rutland Sets New Town Hall Hours as Repaving Work Begins

RUTLAND — Town Hall and the Town Annex shifted to new hours of operation this month, the Rutland Free Public Library confirmed a leaner summer schedule driven by budget restrictions, and Department of Public Works crews began repaving on a number of town streets, according to notices posted to the town's website.

The town has adopted new hours of operation for Town Hall and the Town Annex, per an alert posted to the town's homepage. The notice did not specify the new hours in detail beyond the alert itself; residents with business at either building are directed to check the town website before visiting.

Separately, the Department of Public Works has begun repaving work on several town streets, according to a notice posted this week. The town's website did not list the specific roads included in the current round of work.

The Rutland Free Public Library confirmed that, because of budget restrictions, its hours of operation changed as of July 1: Tuesday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday noon to 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. — except the library is closed Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day, meaning no Saturday service through early September. Library Director Kerry Remington heads the Main Street branch, with Assistant Director Tricia Lowe and Youth Services Librarian Aislinn Lewis rounding out staff leadership.
