Rutland Crews Begin Street Repaving, Town Hall Adjusts Hours

RUTLAND — Town road crews began repaving work on Rutland streets Monday, the same day officials alerted residents to new hours of operation at Town Hall and the Town Annex.

TOWN HALL Town officials confirmed Monday that repaving work has begun on select town streets, according to a News Flash alert posted on the town's website. The alert did not specify which roads are affected; residents can check the town's online alerts page for updates.

The Select Board has scheduled a public hearing for July 20 on a Class II motor vehicle dealer license application for 206 Barre-Paxton Road, according to the town's online meeting calendar.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The Rutland Free Public Library has been operating under reduced hours since July 1 because of budget restrictions, according to the library's website. The new schedule runs Tuesday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday noon to 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the library closed Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
