Charlton Planning Board delays NextEra Energy solar review, debates Worcester Road housing waiver. Members Don Clay, Bob Beranger and Leonie Howard voted 3-0 by roll call to push NextEra Energy's field change request for its 261 North Sturbridge Road solar facility to the board's October 2 meeting. The board then spent most of the meeting on a site plan approval waiver for 100 Worcester Road, where an applicant's friend said the commercial building has sat empty for 16 months and argued "we need housing in Charlton." Conditions floated by planning staff would require at least four parking spaces, Board of Health and Sewer Commission sign-off on added bedrooms, and construction materials kept off the grass.
The available recording ends before the board voted on the waiver itself.
