Parks Commission · Meeting of April 27, 2026
MENDON — The Mendon Parks Commission approved promoting four counselors and hiring a new lifeguard for the 2026 summer season. Commissioners Linda Thompson and Steven P. Aubut, with Parks Director Dan Byer, unanimously backed promoting Lilly Killeen, Gabby Rinehart, Gabby Palmer and Paige Anderson to senior counselor at $16 an hour, and hiring counselor Sienna Usher as a part-time lifeguard at $17 an hour pending certification. The board noted the rec program is "nearly full, with some dates already at capacity," and discussed a possible Mendon-resident priority registration or lottery for 2027.
Commissioners also weighed a roughly $5,000 driveway improvement and a fall scheduling conflict after Nipmuc Youth Field Hockey sought use of park fields due to Miscoe Hill construction, with a decision due by June 30. The board entered executive session to discuss park security cameras before adjourning at 6:30 p.m.
