Outdoor Concert, Fitness Series Set For Winchester Park This Summer

Town officials and the Stevens Memorial Library are turning attention to summer programming, with a free outdoor concert planned for Winchester Park in August and a Monday-evening fitness series already underway there.

TOWN HALL

The town's News Flash feed highlights an upcoming outdoor concert, "Finding Molly," set for Thursday, August 6, at 6 p.m. at Winchester Park. The town is also promoting a weekly Summer Fitness series at Winchester Park, held Mondays at 6 p.m., open to residents looking for a community exercise option.

Separately, the town continues to note a Notice of Town Board Vacancy, updated July 1, listing town boards and committees with open seats that will remain unfilled until candidates step forward. Water conservation measures remain in effect through September 30, 2026, and the town's 2025 Annual Water Quality Report is now available for residents who want to review local drinking water data. The Nashoba Associated Boards of Health also flagged town nurse visiting hours, with a July session already held earlier this month and additional dates typically posted on a rolling basis.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Stevens Memorial Library, led by Director Jess Mynes, continues to build out programming tied to its new FY26-FY29 Strategic Plan, which the library says was shaped by conversations with library stakeholders and sets updated objectives for the coming years. The library recently launched Kanopy video streaming for patrons, giving cardholders access to more than 27,000 titles spanning classic cinema, documentaries and indie film, and is also in the process of transitioning its e-book and audiobook service from Overdrive to the Libby app.

The library's federally backed food literacy grant, first announced last week, remains in a provisional stage as the $20,000 Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners award works toward finalization; no new developments were reported today.

Residents interested in getting more involved can still join the Friends of Stevens Memorial Library, apply for a seat on the Library Board of Trustees, or sign up to volunteer at the front desk, according to the library's website.

COMING UP

The town's Summer Fitness in Winchester Park series continues on Mondays at 6 p.m. through the summer. The outdoor concert "Finding Molly" is scheduled for Thursday, August 6, at 6 p.m., also at Winchester Park. The Stevens Memorial Library's Board of Trustees meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 4 p.m., with the next session falling in August. Water conservation restrictions remain in place through September 30, 2026.
