Oakham Select Board Votes to Begin Layout of Two Subdivision Roads as Town Ways
OAKHAM — February 6, 2026 — Oakham Select Board opens formal process to accept two subdivision roads as public town ways. The board voted unanimously at a special meeting February 6 to declare its intent to lay out Old Schoolhouse Road and Skyline Drive as town ways, citing the Definitive Plan of Longview Estates recorded in Plan Book 775, Page 20 at the Worcester South District Registry of Deeds. The referral goes to the Oakham Planning Board, which meets February 10; the Select Board is scheduled to hold its final layout vote February 23, with abutters on both roads to be notified at least seven days in advance. A Special Town Meeting is already posted for March 9 to consider formal acceptance. Town Counsel has completed two title searches and will conduct a final one before closing; if town meeting voters approve, the town has 120 days to record all documents with the registry. The board also voted to accept a $130 donation from the East Quabbin Land Trust for open space conservation.
