Millbury Launches Digital Literacy Program for Seniors
MILLBURY — Millbury's News Flash brought word of a new digital-skills program for seniors, an open seat on the Conservation Commission, and confirmation that the town's Farmers Market continues later this month at the Asa Waters Mansion.

The town has launched a new program called GetSetUp aimed at improving digital literacy among older residents, allowing seniors to learn live and on-demand alongside other older adults, according to the town's News Flash.
The Conservation Commission is looking to fill a vacancy, according to the News Flash, an opening for residents interested in helping protect the town's wetlands, lakes, ponds, and streams.
The town also confirmed that its Farmers Market will continue at the Asa Waters Mansion on July 16, featuring local vendors and live entertainment, per the News Flash. Several town boards have meetings on the calendar for the coming week, including the Town Manager Screening Committee and the Board of Fire Engineers, both set for Monday, July 13; the Planning Board's Monday meeting has been cancelled, and the Sewer Commission meets Tuesday, July 14.
SCHOOLS
Millbury Public Schools posted an update on its 2026-27 attendance policy, part of ongoing district communications ahead of the new school year. Raymond E. Shaw Elementary School also announced adjusted summer office hours, with the main office open limited morning hours through early July for lost-and-found pickup and other business.
The district also opened registration for the sixth-grade Nature's Classroom trip planned for this fall, inviting families to submit forms at Shaw Elementary.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
Millbury Public Library's Summer Reading program continues through August 8, open to all ages, with prizes for participants and special registered events throughout the run. The library has also featured a media-literacy segment on spotting AI-generated fake news and video, part of its ongoing "Bias and the News" series highlighting NewsGuard Academy resources for residents navigating misinformation online.
