Mendon conservation board approves two Kingsley Lane wetlands requests

Mendon conservation board clears dock license and new home on Kingsley Lane, over one dissent. The commission, chaired by Bob Sweet, unanimously issued a negative determination of applicability for an existing seasonal dock at 61 Kingsley Lane, requiring applicant and civil engineer Patrick Doherty to submit his state Chapter 91 license within three years. A second request, to build a home at neighboring 54 Kingsley Lane within the 100-foot wetlands buffer near Meadow Brook, passed 4-1 with conditions for a pre-construction erosion review and riprap at a drainage pipe.

Doherty told the board the original dock was "a wooden dock that finally gave away about five years ago." Commissioner Carl Hummel walked members through the parliamentary steps for attaching conditions to a motion. The board also continued a Nipmuc Drive enforcement matter to February 12 and issued a certificate of compliance for 39 Millville Street.
