Library Rolls Out Juggling Show, Book Group for Summer Crowd

The Leominster Public Library filled its Wednesday schedule with programming for all ages, while the school district continued preparations for the 2026-2027 academic year, including a preschool waitlist opening and before/after-school program registration.

The city's Downtown Public Parking Garage is now open, according to the city's website, along with continued updates on the Monoosnoc Brook Stabilization Project. Leominster Public Schools opened registration for the Creative Choices Before and After School Program for the 2026-2027 school year on July 8, with families directed to their student's elementary school page for details; the district noted space is limited. The waitlist for tuition-based peer preschool slots at Bennett Preschool for 2026-2027 is also now open, available to Leominster residents whose children turn three by or before August 31, 2026, with interested families asked to call the Bennett Preschool office. The district's homepage also flagged information regarding a First Student bus strike, though no additional detail was included on its scope or timeline.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Leominster Public Library packed Thursday, July 9, with events for multiple age groups: a Brown Bag Book Group discussing John Grisham's "The Guardians" ran from noon to 1 p.m., a "Love Monster Story and Craft!" session for kids ran from 10 to 10:45 a.m., and Circus Dynamics presented a Juggling and Balloon Show for kids and teens from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Teens also had a Movie Thursday screening of "Fellowship of the Ring" with a craft activity from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Looking ahead, the library's July calendar includes a Chess Club on July 13, an English Conversation Class on July 14, a Cupcake Decorating Technique Workshop and a Bead Therapy Workshop for kids and teens on July 13, and a Family Movie Night screening of "GOAT!" the same evening.
