Library Director Kerry Remington Feted at Retirement Open House

The Rutland Free Public Library hosted an open house Thursday afternoon celebrating the retirement of Library Director Kerry Remington, capping her tenure with a community send-off at the Main Street branch.

The Rutland Free Public Library held a retirement celebration for Director Kerry Remington on Thursday, July 23, from 4 to 7 p.m., an open house welcoming residents to stop by and wish her well. Remington has led the library, which lists her contact alongside Assistant Director Tricia Lowe and Youth Services Librarian Aislinn Lewis on its staff page, through recent operational changes including the reduced summer hours that took effect July 1.

The library continues to run its Salty Seniors Book Group, Adult and Kid Happenings series, and Summer Reading Program, with additional offerings including a Great Pumpkin Reading Program, Beyond Books activities, a Teen Advisory Board, and a reading therapy dog program available to patrons through the season.

COMING UP

The library's current hours, in effect through the summer, run Tuesday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday noon to 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with Saturday closures between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
