Library Adds Estate Planning Seminar, Book Group, Trivia Night

Leominster Public Library added three new programs to its August calendar this week: an estate planning seminar, a book discussion group and a trivia night, giving residents fresh options as the month goes on. The city's public calendar also picked up two new business ribbon cuttings and a household hazardous waste collection.

The city's public calendar added two ribbon cutting ceremonies for new local businesses: Joly's Cafe on Aug. 14 and Cornerstone Caregiving on Aug. 19. The city also scheduled a Household Hazardous Waste Collection for Aug. 15, giving residents a chance to dispose of restricted household chemicals and other materials.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The library's new adult offerings include "Not Another Estate Planning Seminar" on Aug. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m., a Brown Bag Book Group discussion of "The Light Between Oceans" by M.L. Stedman on Aug. 13 from noon to 1 p.m., and a Jeopardy Game Night on Aug. 13 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Downtown Sounds, the city's summer concert series, continues this weekend with a show Saturday, Aug. 8, with additional dates Aug. 14 and Aug. 15.

COMING UP

The City Council meets Monday, Aug. 10. The Fall Brook Building Committee, the Legal Affairs Subcommittee and the Conservation Commission all meet Tuesday, Aug. 11. The library also holds a Chess Club session Aug. 10 and an English Conversation Class Aug. 11.
