Leominster Downtown Calendar Fills With Starburst, More Downtown Sounds Shows

DATELINE — LEOMINSTER Leominster's downtown events calendar fills out this week, with the Starburst 2026 festival set for Saturday and two more Downtown Sounds concerts scheduled before Labor Day.

TOWN HALL The city has scheduled an Aug. 25 ribbon cutting for IC Credit Union, the latest in a string of business openings the mayor's office has marked this summer. The City Council has set four public hearings for Monday, Aug. 24, covering permit and zoning matters listed as C-06, P 64-26, P 05-27 and 66-26. Separately, the Disability Commission meets Tuesday, Aug. 18, and the Leominster Housing Authority board meets Wednesday, Aug. 19.

COMMUNITY & ARTS Starburst 2026 arrives downtown Saturday, Aug. 22, and the Downtown Sounds concert series continues with shows Friday, Aug. 21, and Friday, Aug. 28. At the Leominster Public Library, a new monthly children's program, the Kate and Bill Holloway Monthly Interactive, kicks off Sept. 8 with performer Strega Mama presenting "We're Going on a Bear Hunt." The library follows that with Family Fun Night: Exploring Colors on Sept. 9.
