Leominster City Hall Closes Friday; Trash Pickup Runs as Scheduled
City Hall will be dark on Friday, July 3, as Leominster observes Independence Day — but residents can still put their bins out, because trash and recycling collection runs on its normal schedule.

The city posted a reminder this week that City Hall will be closed Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day. The Department of Public Works confirmed there is no delay to curbside trash and recycling pickup that day.
Also on the town's homepage: the FY 2027 Mayor's Budget is available for public review on the city website, and the Downtown Public Parking Garage is now open. Residents with questions about running a home-based business can find a new FAQ document posted online. Updates on the Monoosnoc Brook Stabilization Project are also being maintained on the city's site.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Leominster Public Library is rolling into summer with a busy stretch of programming. On Monday, June 29, the library hosts "Whooo's Ready to Paint?" for kids and teens from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the Yo-Yo Show Summer Reading Kick-Off from 3 to 4 p.m. — a lively way to launch the season's reading challenge.
Tuesday, June 30, brings two more children's events: a Fairy Houses craft program from 10 a.m. to noon, and a Save the Bay Touch Tank Experience from 2 to 4 p.m., giving young residents a hands-on look at marine life.
Looking ahead to July 2, the library will present "Old Glory, New Glory: The History of the American Flag" from 6 to 8 p.m. — a timely adult program just before the holiday weekend.
