HOLDEN — The Holden Board of Selectmen adopted the town manager's 2026 goals, directing him to study raising the senior property tax deferral income cap. Selectman Chris Faulkner proposed studying an increase from $40,000 to $60,000, saying "people need more money to be able to afford living in any town." Selectman Lodi said he opposes any new local tax outside the normal rate process, including a meals tax. The board welcomed new Assistant Town Manager Claire Donovan, formerly of Southbury, Connecticut, and heard that the Salisbury Street Bridge, deemed structurally deficient by the state, could face closure before its planned 2027 replacement.
The board approved March 24 minutes 3-0-1 and April 6 minutes 4-0, and approved the warrant for the May 11 town election.
