Energy Committee · Meeting of October 6, 2026

BERLIN — The Berlin Energy Committee flagged that Memorial School's windows will soon age out of state funding eligibility. Chair Tim Wysocki and member Amy S. Grenier heard from grant consultants that the Massachusetts School Building Authority requires windows under 30 years old, and Memorial School's original windows, now 28, turn 29 in January. Consultant William estimated a full replacement could cost between $500,000 and $2 million.

Grenier called the cost pressure "a toughie." The committee also discussed persistent heating and cooling complaints at the municipal office building, with Wysocki citing "systemic problems with the design of the building," and moved its next meeting to November 10 because of the Election Day conflict. The only formal action was a roll-call vote to adjourn, with Wysocki and Grenier both voting aye.
