Downtown Sounds, Bohemian Night Anchor Leominster's Summer Weekend

Downtown Sounds brings live music to the city center this Friday and Saturday, kicking off a busy stretch of summer programming that continues through the rest of July, according to the city's event calendar.

TOWN HALL

City Hall's public calendar shows a full slate of civic business this week, including a Planning Board meeting on Monday, July 20, and a Cemetery Commission meeting on Tuesday, July 21. The FY2027 Mayor's Budget remains posted for public review on the city website, alongside continuing updates on the Monoosnoc Brook Stabilization Project. The Downtown Public Parking Garage is now open, the city confirmed, and officials have also posted FAQs addressing home business regulations for residents.

SCHOOLS

Leominster Public Schools continues to post updated summer bus schedules ahead of the new school year, with revised routes for Johnny Appleseed Elementary and Leominster High School both updated July 10. The district also noted that its Bennett Preschool waitlist for tuition-based peer slots in the 2026-2027 school year is now open for Leominster residents whose children will be age 3 by August 31, 2026; families can call the preschool office at 978-534-7704 for details.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Leominster Public Library has a full run of programming this week. Kids can build Paracord Survival Bracelets today, July 17, with sessions at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Looking ahead, the library will host Chess Club on Monday, July 20, at 7 p.m., an English Conversation Class and the Literary Leominster Book Club on Tuesday, July 21, and Hikes Through History on Wednesday, July 22, at 6 p.m. Younger patrons also have a busy slate, including a Strega Mama interactive storytime on Dinosaurs and a Mini House Design program, both July 20, plus The Toe Jam Puppet Band on July 21.

Elsewhere downtown, the city's community calendar lists Downtown Sounds performances Friday and Saturday, a Bohemian Night at Carter Park (Noche Bohemia) event Saturday, July 18, and the Sholan Farms Cruising and Crops Festival set for Wednesday, July 22.
