Dog Park Committee · Meeting of October 27, 2026

MILLBURY — The Millbury Dog Park Committee voted 4-0 to approve an Eagle Scout candidate's project to repair aging wooden structures at Butler Farm Dog Park. The scout, identified as Ben, told the committee he plans to repair sun-bleached and "moldy, rotting" play apparatuses and a 2016 memorial bench built by a previous Eagle Scout, Cameron Berry of Troop 110. He said he hopes to submit formal paperwork by January 2026 and begin construction in spring, funded partly through donations from businesses including CNS Lumber.

Committee members suggested additional elements, including a memorial garden for dogs no longer living and a tree to reduce future sun damage. One member summed up the vote: "Are we going to let an Eagle Scout do their project to improve the park?"
