Cultural Council · Meeting of January 22, 2026

BERLIN — The Berlin Cultural Council voted to shift $25 in administrative funds to a Berlin Seniors grant after a venue and performer change. The council unanimously moved the $25 from unused administrative money so the Berlin Seniors program kept its full $450 award, then formally modified the grant to reflect a new performer, date, venue and budget after the original venue flooded. Chair Chris Christensen Jr. and Clerk M.J.

Stades presented a draft of the council's entry for the town's annual report, which members called "really well written," and the council accepted it for submission. Members also approved a revised community survey adding a question on program pricing, and discussed requiring grant applicants to submit a signed letter of venue approval after learning some past applicants had used venues like 19 Carter without first securing permission. The council adjourned at 8 p.m.
