Community Preservation Act Committee · Meeting of March 3, 2026

BERLIN — The Berlin Community Preservation Act Committee voted 6-0 to approve its February minutes. The committee set an April 7 hearing on its draft annual spending plan. Members advanced signage pricing requests for four sites, Horseshoe Pond, Powder House, the Community Garden and Berlin Courts, through vendor Sign Logic.

A member called a stalled town hall access redesign a casualty of cost, saying "the proposal was so outrageously high that it's been put on hold." Member Beth said she remains "so unhappy with the website because it's still got the housing partnership on it." The committee's chair reported planning to reach out to interim administrator Jeff Nutting to learn his funding priorities, and members began drafting a "clawback" policy after a town recreation pavilion project reportedly dropped landscaping, lighting and picnic tables amid rising costs. No Community Preservation Act funds have gone toward housing down-payment assistance so far, beyond a septic feasibility study.
