Council on Aging · Meeting of June 17, 2026

CLINTON — The Clinton Council on Aging re-elected its leadership slate and detailed two pending state grants during its June 17 meeting. The board voted unanimously to keep Claire Lent as chair and Lisa Philbin as vice chair for the coming year. Staff said the center is seeking about $8,000 for a planned memory cafe and about $18,000 for carriage house modernization through the state's Service Incentive Grants program, and staff said they hope to receive both.

The director reported the center's budget for the new fiscal year, which begins July 1, has been approved and that "we are in good shape for the upcoming year." Staff also disclosed that a falling tree limb narrowly missed a woman identified as Winnie the previous week, prompting removal of two trees this week. The board also took up its practice of not meeting in July and August, and staff renewed the push to recruit per-diem van drivers.
