Athol Library Rolls Out Summer Slate Of Teen And Family Programs

ATHOL — Athol Public Library unveiled a run of summer programs for teens, kids and families this week, headlined by a two-day escape room challenge and a library-wide rubber duck cosplay contest, giving residents several reasons to stop by 568 Main St. in the coming weeks.

The library's escape room, "Escape From the Terrible Thicket," runs across multiple sessions on July 22 and 23, with registration required to take part. Also on offer: a "Cosplay Ducks" contest, open for submissions from July 7 through noon on July 31, inviting patrons to dress up a rubber duck and enter it in the library's display.

Teens have two programs on the calendar: Teen Jeopardy on July 20 at 3:30 p.m., and a beaded bracelets craft session July 30 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Younger readers can join the library's Graphic Novel Club, discussing "Amulet" on Aug. 13 from 4 to 5 p.m. for ages eight to 13. Adults have their own offering: a "Learn to Make Beeswax Wraps" workshop Aug. 6 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
