Athol Library Opens Escape Room, Teen Jeopardy This Week

ATHOL — The busiest news out of town over the past day comes from the Athol Public Library, which is opening its doors this week to two new hands-on programs for local teens, including a two-day escape room challenge requiring advance registration.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The Athol Public Library has Teen Jeopardy set for Monday, July 20, at 3:30 p.m., giving middle and high schoolers a trivia-night format at the Main Street branch. Right behind it, the library is running an escape room challenge, "Escape From the Terrible Thicket," across multiple sessions on July 22 and 23; registration is required and the library has not said how many slots remain.

The library is also running its "Cosplay Ducks" contest through the summer, accepting duck submissions from residents through Friday, July 31, at noon — a lighter community project alongside the more structured teen programming. Further out, the library has beaded-bracelet making for teens on Thursday, July 30, a beeswax-wraps workshop on Thursday, August 6, and a graphic novel club discussing "Amulet" for ages 8 to 13 on Thursday, August 13.
