Athol Library Adds Escape Room, Duck Contest To Summer Calendar
ATHOL — The Athol Public Library has unveiled a full slate of summer programming, headlined by a locked-room mystery challenge running two sessions next week and a lighthearted duck-decorating contest open through the end of the month.

The library's "Escape From the Terrible Thicket" challenge runs multiple sessions July 22 and 23, with advance registration required. Participants will work through the puzzle-based escape room in small groups.
The library is also running its "Cosplay Ducks" contest, inviting patrons to decorate and submit a duck-themed entry between Tuesday, July 7, and Friday, July 31, at noon.
Additional programs on the library's calendar include a beeswax-wrap-making workshop Thursday, Aug. 6, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; a beaded-bracelet session Thursday, July 30, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.; and a graphic novel club centered on "Amulet" for ages 8 to 13 on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 4 to 5 p.m.

Teens can compete in a Jeopardy-style trivia game at the library Monday, July 20, at 3:30 p.m.
