Ashburnham Seeks Volunteers to Fill Multiple Town Board Vacancies
As June closes out, Ashburnham is reminding residents that multiple town boards and committees have seats waiting to be filled, even as the town wraps up a small but meaningful environmental project at Winchester Park and prepares for a holiday-shortened week at Town Hall and the Transfer Station.

Several seats on Ashburnham town boards and committees remain vacant, according to a notice updated Tuesday on the town's website. The openings are open-ended — they will be posted until filled — and residents interested in serving their community are encouraged to check the full list at the town's civic alerts page (https://www.ashburnham-ma.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?aid=73).
Residents should also note two upcoming municipal closures tied to the Fourth of July holiday: Town Hall will be closed Thursday, July 2, and the Transfer Station will be closed Saturday, July 4.
In a bit of good environmental news, the town announced that shrubs and small trees have been added to Winchester Park specifically to support declining pollinator populations. The planting, noted in a News Flash dated June 29, reflects ongoing local conservation efforts.
The Nashoba Associated Boards of Health will provide a town nurse visit on Tuesday, July 21, at 10 a.m. Ashburnham residents are welcome to attend any scheduled visit in the region, and all ages may participate.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
Stevens Memorial Library has been provisionally awarded a $20,000 federal Library Services and Technology Act grant through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. The grant funds a program called "At the Table: Food Literacy from the Ground Up," which will support library programs and resources aimed at improving food literacy skills for community members of all ages. Library Director Jess Mynes leads the Stevens Memorial Library at 20 Memorial Drive.
The library also recently released its FY26–FY29 Strategic Plan, which sets updated objectives and directions developed through conversations with library stakeholders.
