Ashburnham Flags Road Work, Water Rules and Board Vacancies
Town officials this week flagged upcoming road work, a lingering water conservation order and several open seats on town boards, while the Stevens Memorial Library announced a $20,000 federal grant to support a new food-literacy program.

The town has scheduled road work on Stowell Road for July 9, following earlier work on Harris Road on July 6, according to a notice posted on the town website. Residents should expect possible delays in those areas.
A mandatory water conservation order remains in effect from May 1 through September 30, 2026, the town said, urging residents to limit outdoor water use. The town's Annual Water Quality Report for 2025, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report, is now available for residents who want details on local drinking water testing results.
Town Hall also renewed notice of multiple vacancies on town boards and committees, updated as of July 1; the postings will remain open until filled. Residents interested in serving can find the full list on the town website. Separately, the Nashoba Associated Boards of Health will hold town nurse hours on Tuesday, July 21, at 10 a.m., with residents able to attend any scheduled regional visit.

The Stevens Memorial Library has been provisionally awarded a $20,000 Library Services and Technology Act grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners for a program called "At the Table: Food Literacy from the Ground Up," which will fund library programming aimed at improving residents' food literacy skills. Library Director Jess Mynes leads the library, which also recently released its FY26-FY29 Strategic Plan, outlining updated goals shaped by conversations with library stakeholders.
The library continues to offer its Kanopy streaming video service, with more than 27,000 titles available free to cardholders, and has completed its transition from the Overdrive app to Libby for digital lending.
